Sleek, sunny and celebrity-studded, Cannes is a French Riviera city and a curving crescent of beaches, designer shops, Art Deco architecture and weather-beaten pétanque players wedged between the Mediterranean and the back-county hills.

About France

The glamorous side of Cannes can be admired by visiting the "Palais des Festivals et des Congrès" or by being present at its world-famous movie Festival. You can also discover the old town on top of the famous hill of Le "Suquet" where you can visit the ramparts and the Museum de la Castre, ideally housed in the ruins of a medieval castle.

Take the opportunity to appreciate the amazing view over the city, the port, the Croisette and the Lérins Islands. At the foot of the old town, enjoy shopping in the Forville market or in the main artery: the Antibes street.

Finally, go for a walk along the Old Port full of old rigs and yachts.

"It was good experience to travel with Rail Europe. Seating comfort is very good. It is required to improve the storage of luggage. It is becoming difficult to store the luggage specially when whole family is travelling together. Moreover, while booking time , there is no selection for the choices of seats so when seats are reserved for upper floor of the train , it is becoming difficult to move the luggage. "

"I booked for the trip, but it turned out that no need to book a regional train with a Fench pass. Then why the Hong Kong agency booked the train and charged me for the booking? Because booking doe snot make a difference, I did not take that train, and took an earlier train. The train had some problem and stoped in the middle of the trip, so we had to change to another train. We arrived about 3 hours after the schedule. "

"Travellers gathered at the hall to check the platform number until suddenly everyone flocked to the train when the TV screen displayed it. It was chaotic with people trying to get into the train without delay. We thought travelling by First Class should have been more convenient without hassle. However, it turned out that we had to run for our lives to locate the correct coach. The coach was subsequently found to be the most distant one of the train from the platform. There was no tips to tell the travellers (particularly foreign tourists) how to locate the appropriate coach. It should have been highlighted in the ticket for easy reference. The printed e-ticket had displayed problem with the Coach No. overlapped with the Seat No. so we had to guess which coach the First Class should be. Luckily, there was only one First Class coach. The coach door was not automatically closed nor the toilet outside, resulting in filthy smell which all passengers hated. "

"Everything is fine if you have an e-ticket, but although you do have your seat number it does not state on which carrier your seat is. Only after asking a couple of administrative people at the Cannes station did one lady show us that if you print your ticket it shows you on which carrier your seats are situated. Announcements are VERY unclear in English and Dutch/Belgium on the train itself. "

"The train itself is perfect, fast, comfortable and very clean. The only points which made me disappointed is: 1. I did not reach my destination point. Train stopped before Geneva and I have to take bus than. Nobody informed me about it. On my ticket mentioned direct train Cannes-Geneva. 2. You have to create on your web site seat selection option, as some of travellers carry with them big suitcases. So, it is much comfortable to sit next to baggage place. Apart of that, everything was perfect and I always enjoy travelling by your trains. "

"We travelled first class on 21st July 2014 Cannes to Paris on the 13:06. Value for money was excellent and seats in the train were very comfortable. The train left on time but incurred a 28 minute delay due to a trackside fire, not in any way the fault of SNCF. Cannes station offered rather few facilties. It was a disappointment that there was no in-seat food or drinks service during the 5 hour train journey. A light meal or even trolly service would be my normal expectation for first class. "
